  • 200 g flour
  • 1/2 sachet baking powder
  • 1 small cup of milk

Muffin baking tray and paper cake cases
Please note: You can also use a ready-made baking mix if you prefer.

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Add sugar and butter to a bowl and whisk until creamy; then add the vanilla sugar. Now stir in the eggs, a little at a time. Mix the baking powder with the flour and add some of it to the mixture, then some milk. Stir in some more flour and milk alternately. When all ingredients are mixed well, you can add fruit, nuts, marzipan or chocolate hazelnut spread to the mixture, if you prefer.

Now place the mixture evenly in the paper cake cases on the muffin baking tray. Bake the muffins for around 10 to 12 minutes. To find out if they are baked, carefully push a cocktail stick into the middle of the muffin – if there is sticky mixture on the cocktail stick, the muffins are not yet baked through.

When the muffins have cooled, you can decorate them with chocolate icing and insert short pieces of the liquorice laces as legs on each side. For eyes you can use chocolate candy buttons and draw pupils with chocolate icing. Your creepy crawly spider muffins are now complete!
